Synopsis:
Growing up in small-town Belcrest, Maddy Jennings always thought she was destined to be with her childhood sweetheart, Trent Basso. Throughout the complicated road she has traveled with Trent, someone else has had a strong presence in Maddy's life. Trent’s older brother Gabe has always been someone she could count on, therefore neither of them can be blamed when lines blur from friendship to something more. However, promises made between brothers threaten to ensure that neither of them will have a permanent place in her life.
When Maddy returns to her hometown for her brother’s wedding, she is forced to face both Trent and Gabe for the first time in two years. While the two Basso brothers fight to win her heart, she is busy struggling with a past that won't seem to let her go. Whether she wants to or not, Maddy must decide to either forfeit her own happiness or forever tear a family apart.
Excerpt:
“You have to let me go.”
“I can’t, Maddy,” he says, placing his hand on my face, wiping a tear from my eyes.
He’s inching closer to me, I knew I shouldn’t have drank so much. I am losing my willpower and I don’t know if it’s the alcohol or him. “You have to, Trent. I can’t live like this anymore.”
“You are mine…always.” His lips crush into mine and the warmth spreads through my body. His hand moves from my cheek to my neck pulling me closer, keeping me firmly against his lips. He licks my bottom lip asking me for permission to open and, knowing that the words he just spoke are true, I oblige. His tongue meets mine and they dance together like they always have.
Author Bio:
Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)
Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.

Synopsis:
All Tyler Karras wants is to enjoy life with his expectant bride. What he gets instead is a graveside seat at her funeral. With the woman who killed her uncharged and still free, all Ty wants now is revenge.
His brother, Nick, has dangerous connections and suggests a sadistic plan: grab the woman responsible and hand her over to Nick’s associates—sex-traffickers in San Francisco’s Russian Mafia. They offer Ty more than he dreamed possible. In exchange for the woman, they’ll finally let Nick leave the business for good—with his debt wiped clean and his heart still beating.
There’s just one problem: Ty kidnaps the wrong woman. Now he must protect Hannah Maguire from the very enemy he's unleashed.
While on the run, Ty and Hannah share their life stories and begin to bond—Hannah out of compassion for Tyler’s crushing loss, and Ty in his overwhelming need for atonement for having derailed Hannah’s life. Alone and desperate, they cling to each other in an intimate moment of human need, but their new bond puts Hannah at even greater risk, for the Russians are holding Nick as leverage to force Ty to complete their deal and hand over the girl.
Caught in a no-win situation, Ty must find a way to save himself, his brother, and Hannah, but with the Russian Mafia, even two out of three makes for very long odds.
My Review:
OH!!! EM!!! GEE!!!!! Wowwy...wow...wow!!! This book had me sitting on pins and needles from beginning to end!! I could not put it down and when I had to.... it was all I thought about! I couldn't wait to pick it back up and see where Tyler was going or what he was going to do next. I have never yelled at my iPad, held my breath, or needed anxiety medication as much as when I was reading The Mistaken! Nancy S. Thompson knows exactly what she is doing and this story sucked me in and made me worship the book queen that is Nancy!!
The Mistaken is about two brothers.... One is a Dudley- Do- Right, the other is a bad boy who gets involved in the Russian mafia! Tyler and his brother Nick, are about as opposite as opposites can be! Tyler is a straight laced, law abiding, goal oriented, boy next door... With amazing blue eyes and a super sexy accent. Nick is a gun wielding, hard living, full of angst and guilt ridden bad boy who has had to live his life in his brother's shadow. How could you not want to instantly root for each of them???
Tyler is living the American dream. He has a great job, just married the love of his life (Jillian), came home from his honeymoon and found out he is going to be a first time Daddy. He is on cloud 9 and doesn't know how his life could possibly be any better. That is until a spa worker steals his wife's identity and puts a damper on them buying their dream home to raise their family in. Tyler's wife isn't satisfied with his decision on how to handle the person who she views as ruining her life. Now enter the spa worker who stole Jillian's identity.... Trashy, manipulating, low down Erin Anderson! Jillian decides to take matters into her own hands and who better to assist her with putting a little fear into Erin than.... Nick the Russian mafia bad boy.. AND Tyler's brother!!! When Tyler finds out about Jillian and Nick's plan... He flips out and that is putting it lightly! Tyler forbids Nick from helping and Jillian is left to handle the situation on her own. She decides to try to scare Erin into admitting her guilt, but ends up getting into a car accident and getting killed while pregnant with Tyler's baby. Tyler is full of guilt, grief, rage, and now some very unhealthy habits and decides that he is going to kidnap Erin and trade her to the Russian Mafia for his brother's freedom. Of course Tyler, being the all around golden boy, really has no clue how to do this and just lets his distraught emotions consume him. He stalks Erin at the spa, sees her arguing with her "husband", follows her home, and waits. Little does Tyler know that Erin is having an affair with a married man, and this man's wife is a doppleganger for Erin! The woman Tyler follows home and kidnaps is not Erin, but Hannah, a totally innocent bystander who was just trying to bust her no good, cheating husband! This is where The Mistaken takes a drastic turn, kept me up for un-Godly hours, made me want to pull Tyler's and my own hair out, and suckered me in to the characters and their story!!!
The Mistaken takes a horrendous chain of events and weaves in love, heartache, friendship, grief, humor, happiness, and pure rage all into one nice package and delivers an outstanding story!!! I was about 10% into the story when I was already crying, laughing, and irritated with the men in this book! Nancy S. Thompson took me on a ride that I would do over and over again!! Before reading The Mistaken, I was not a sold out fan on the mystery/suspense/romance genre. I really didn't understand how those three genres could be intertwined into one story line. I now worship the throne of the queen of mystery/suspense/romance and that person is Nancy S. Thompson!! I give The Mistaken a very well deserved 5 stars and encourage everyone to read it ASAP!!! Trust me... You will find it all in this story and you too will get the chance to yell obscenities at your iPad/Kindle/book, whatever device you read on, and experience the utter frustration that is Tyler!! ;)
