"So, why didn't you tell me you were coming home?"
"I told you, I wanted to surprise you. I thought maybe you needed some help packing."
Did I believe that was the reason he was here? No, not really, because I knew he was up to something. He had changed so much for having only being gone a few weeks. "Oh, well, I wish you would have told me last weekend that you were coming home. I could have used some help this morning." I tapped my finger on the door of his car. "So, what did Alexis want?"
"Sorry, I guess maybe I should have told you. She just wanted to talk about the party last weekend. She asked if I had been there cause she hadn't seen me."
What the hell! "Why would she care if you were at the party? She's trying to start shit again." The more I thought about her, the more pissed I got.
"I said the same thing to her." He turned his head to stare out the front windshield. "She was going on about seeing Hunter with his hands all over you, and you guys walking out of the party by yourselves." Then he turned back to me. "I don't care if you did. I told her I trusted you."
"That's good, because you should trust me."
"I know. That's why I'm not worried about it." He did not sound very sure of himself. Dominic knew I had feelings for Hunter. He knew what happened between us last summer.
My Review:
Um...... OMG.... OK.... how do I even begin writing this review?!?!?!?!? My heart has been pumped full of joy, then viciously ripped out... stomped on, spit on, and trampled on by a dozen elephants!!!! Meagan Smith... you are a brilliant she devil in disguise!!!!
Kenzie is the baby of 4 kids and the only girl. She has grown up with her over bearing, uber protective brothers trying to make all of her decisions for her and boss her around in all arenas of her life. She has just accepted this as her life and goes with the flow. That is until at the ripe age of 10 her brothers befriend the gorgeous 13 year old Hunter. Kenzie knows then that he is what she wants and she desperately tries to find any excuse to be near him.
Fast forward through Kenzie's teenage years. She is tired of fighting her brothers, goes with a "safe" choice as a boyfriend... no one is really safe for a girl with 3 older brothers.... and graduates high school. She is planning to go off to college, which just happens to be the same school her current boyfriend Dominic, AND Hunter go to...SHOCKER!!!!! Dominic is an ass, that tries to schmooze his way into Kenzie's panties with antics that had me screaming at my Kindle...for the love of God.... PLEASE run to Hunter!!!! Even when fighting their attraction, the chemistry between Kenzie and Hunter is undeniable! I am not going to give away any teasers...but let's just say ... Hunter is HAWT!!!!
Kenzie suffers through a tough introduction to college... special thanks to Dominic... and Hunter is right there when she falls! Kenzie and Hunter are DY-NO-MITE together and had me blowing through the pages to see will they or won't they!! This book is a MUST read and makes me want to read the next installment in this series STAT!! Yesterday is not quick enough people!!! Meagan Smith is seriously a lil she devil.... a brilliant she devil!!! I give Trying Not to Love You 5 golden stars on the knock my socks off scale!! WARNING..... the ending will leave you speechless and you will see why my review began the way it did!!!
