Release Day Blast: American Girl on Saturn by Nikki Godwin

HAPPY RELEASE DAY BLAST to American Girl on Saturn by Nikki Godwin!!!!

Blurb:
The summer after graduation is supposed to be that first real taste of freedom - but not for eighteen-year-old Chloe Branson. Just as that breeze of freedom is making its way into her galaxy, her secret-service-agent dad drops a meteor-sized bomb of bad news on her and her sisters. An attempt has been made on the lives of Canadian boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, during their USA tour, and the guys have to go into hiding ASAP. The only problem? In the midst of the crisis and media frenzy, their dad volunteered to hide the guys...in their house.

Six-year-old Emery is as ecstatic as any self-proclaimed Saturnite would be, but Chloe and her seventeen-year-old sister Aralie watch their summer plans crash and burn like a falling star. The SAS guys aren't happy with the situation, either. Bad boy Jules picks fights with Aralie about everything from his Twitter followers to his laundry, and heart-throb Benji can't escape Emery's fangirlisms for more than three minutes.

But after the super-cute Milo kisses Chloe during a game of hide-and-seek, she finally understands what Emery means when she talks about SAS being "out of this world." If this is what Saturn feels like, Chloe doesn't want to come back to Earth.

Blog Tour: Crypto Love by Stephanie Beck

Check out Crypto Love Book Two, The Justice Fraternity Chronicles By Stephanie Beck!!

Blurb:
Sidekick becomes hero to save superheroes everywhere. Chris, aka Crypto Man, loves being a sidekick—especially the 'kicking' part. When he returns to his boyhood home to search for clues about a recent increase in villains coming from the area, he finds himself face to face with a beautiful woman, and for the first time he has a shot at being the lead hero.

Penna Banena always wanted to be a hero. She even gave up modeling to join The Warden's School for Superheroes. When she discovers it's not only a scam but is providing inside information to villains, she stays on to gather enough evidence to take the whole ring down.

Crypto Man's appearance throws her plan for a loop. He's blunt, tough, and everything she's ever hoped for in a man. And although romance has to take a backseat to defeating the bad guys, if Penna has her way Crypto Man's world will never be the same.

EXCERPT:
Penna snorted before she could hold it back.
Chris looked up, his eyebrow cocked. "What was that for?"
"I can be your sidekick? Really? You are the definition of sidekick. In regular terms, you're also about as far from an independent hero as a guy can get."
"No crap, but it's one little thing. I can take lead on one thing, especially if you already did all the leg work." He wrinkled his nose. "I don't like that you know so much about me."
She couldn't erase her memory and wouldn't, not even for him. "Sorry."
"Fine. So you'll be my sidekick—standard rules, which I assume you know?"
Her heart raced. She never, ever, even in her wildest dreams, really believed she'd be a superhero. Now she was being offered the opportunity of a lifetime—Crypto Man's sidekick. Even if it was for one small mission, she'd have it.
"I know the standard rules, but I'd like to add a Dinah-Go clause."
"And that is?"
She grinned, looking him up and down again, imagining him in his blue stretch suit as opposed to the jeans and t-shirt he currently wore. "It counters the 'no fraternizing with the sidekick' clause, leaving the door open for any kind of seduction either of us might want."
He laughed, but then stopped, looking at her as if she'd grown a horn. "You were serious? What the hell could a girl like you want with a beast like me?"
For an instant she thought the problem was in her. Maybe he didn't like stacked blondes with rocking curves, but it sounded as if he might have a problem with confidence. She stood again, knowing full well what the heels and the nude catsuit did for her body. She stepped to him, nearly eye to eye.
"I could tell you all about the things I want to do to you." She ran her hands up his sides, tracing her fingers up his muscled abdomen. "Or I could show you."

Author Info:
Even before she understood what all the thrusting meant, Stephanie Beck loved reading romance. When the stories didn't end the way she wanted, writing her own was the perfect solution. From ridiculous humor to erotica, Stephanie loves being transported within a story. When she's not elbow deep in words, her husband and three children command her attention. After they are sleeping she knits or bakes cookies…or squeezes in more writing. Stephanie loves to hear from readers.

Blurb-
Dain has lived a total of ninety-nine different lifetimes and in every single one, he has loved the same girl.
Their past is marred by ill-fated romance and almost encounters.
Evil forces have conspired to keep the two of them a part and it seems to have succeeded ...
Tara is gone, and in her place stands Bonnie, the complete opposite of Tara.
Is Dain's shot at love over or has he lived all these lives because he has loved the wrong girl all along?
A hundred chances at love…and it comes down to only one.

Excerpt-

“Dain, we are here. We are walking the rest of the way.”

I sat up as Bonnie reached back from the front seat to shake me again. Still half asleep, I grabbed her hand, and she allowed me to pull her through the opening. I tugged her onto my lap in the cramped back seat and closed my arms around her. It was nice to have her back where she belonged. Whether she was Bonnie or Tara, she felt familiar.

She didn’t melt into me like she usually would have, and I tried to ignore the hurt that wreaked havoc on my heart.

“Where are Marco and Akila?” My groggy voice was thick with gravel.

“They are looking around for a place to hide the car.”

I snuggled against her neck, inhaling deeply. Her skin was warm, fragrant silk against my nose. I nuzzled deeper. “You don’t like me much do you, Bonnie?”

She lifted her chin, allowing me to trail my lips along her jaw. Her breath caught as I flicked my tongue against the dip beneath her earlobe.

“You are a stranger to me, Dain, so how can I dislike you? But you aren’t the man I love. I love Dylan.”

I kissed her chin, and now her breath sped up in response. I felt her pulse racing beneath my finger tips on her wrist.

“Bonnie, if you knew what I know about Dylan, you’d hate him as much as I do.”

“I could never hate Dylan.” She turned to face me, our lips a breath away from one another. Her eyes blazed with a fire deep from within her that I had never seen in Tara, and I was almost consumed by the heat.

Check out the author's  idea of the perfect soundtrack to The Reborn: The Book Of Dain.

The Kill by Thirty Seconds to Mars -My publisher thought The Reborn reminded her of this songs.

Distant Memory by Brienne Moore/Skin by Brienne Moore -These songs got me in the epic love mood.

I Don't Recall by Lavender Diamond -This song helped me with the first 2 chapters and chapter 10

There I Go Again by Amos Lee/May I Remind You by Amos Lee -Amos Lee always gets me in an emotionally raw mood. So if I need to write melancholy he was the go to for this book.

Better Man by James Morrison -100% how Dain feels for Tara. It is a heavy, swoontastic song for their love.

Beautifully by Jay Brannan -THIS is Missy's song perfectly.

Honest Face by Liam Finn -This is how Dain and Dylan feels about Missy. Very torn and it got me in that headspace.

Gawd Above by John Fullbright -The Faculty / Facility song

Blank Maps by Cold Specks -Sounds like a jaunty journey song.

Take My Lips by Ferras/Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum -Romantic songs that makes me happy and when happy I kill off less people. :)

Never Quit Loving You by Jill Barber -When I was trying to understand Tara when I couldn't figure out why she kept trying, this song was her perspective.

Darling, Darling, Darling by Justin Townes Earle-Dain's song for Tara even when I had him interacting with other girls I had to remember who was in his heart.

Look the Other Way by Justin Townes Earle -This song is for scenes with Bonnie and Dain. Theirs is an interesting dynamic.

Peppermint and Glue by Shannon Little -This song helped me feel what Bonnie tries to get Dain to understand about Tara.

You Make It Real by James Morrison -I use this for Dylan when he struggled with Dain's emotions for Tara.

You're Not Alone by Marie Miller -I love Akila and Dain's relationship. This song is the embodiment of it for them both.

Not Enough by Avril Lavigne -The ending.

SYNOPSIS –

Things for Lance and Samantha have been picture perfect since they reunited four years ago. They are happily married with a little girl and another baby on the way. Lance's career with the Forbidden Gods is stronger than ever. Samantha has some best selling books to her name and her writing career is taking off.

In just a few short months, that perfect world starts to shatter. Lance has to go on tour without Sam. He has creative differences with management over the band's latest album that have left him frustrated. He suffers loss after loss, not knowing if he can take much more. He turns to alcohol to numb the pain just like he did all those years ago when Sam left him.

Sam tries to be strong for her family when tragedy threatens to pull them apart but when Lance isn't there for her when she needs him the most, she questions everything she ever believed about them and their love.

Lance is lost and hanging by a thread. Can Sam save him? Or is it too late? Will Lance be able to find his way back home?

Excerpt: form Lance’s POV

The flight home was pretty uneventful. He tried to write, but he was too distracted by the thought of seeing his family. He thought about getting a small drink, but Sam would kill him if she smelled alcohol on him.

He tried to read, but the words on the page wouldn’t register. He put in his ear buds and listened to the playlist Sam had made for him before he left. It was filled with songs from when they were kids, especially their song, “I Remember You.” He put it on repeat and closed his eyes.

He woke up to the sound of the pilot telling them to fasten their seatbelts. He’d fallen asleep for most of the flight, but wasn’t really surprised considering the tough schedule they’d been on.

He started getting antsy waiting for the plane to land. When he finally got the okay to turn on his phone, the first thing he did was text her that he’d landed. Hopefully she and Emma were waiting for him.

She sent a quick reply that they were at the airport already. His head fell back on the seat. He was finally going to hold his woman in his arms and he wasn’t sure he would be able to let her go.

As he got off the plane, Lance had to keep from pushing people out of his way. He gripped his bag in his hands and took a deep breath. He couldn’t believe it, but he was nervous to see Sam.

He walked through the airport, looking around for them. His face broke out into a smile when he noticed her standing there, Emma next to her holding her hand. His pace quickened as he walked to them; they hadn’t seen him yet.

He scooped up Emma into his arms, startling her. “Hey peanut!” he exclaimed, planting a big kiss on her cheek.

She squealed and threw her arms around his neck. “Daddy!”

He glanced over to Sam. She was even more beautiful than he remembered – than what he saw in his dreams. Her stomach had really popped while he was gone; he loved it. “Hey you,” he whispered softly, drawing her close to him with his free arm.

“Hey,” she replied, her eyes filling with tears as she buried her face in his chest.

Shhh,” he chided, leaning down to kiss the top of her blonde hair. “It’s ok, I’m here now.” She nodded and sniffled. “I’ve missed you so much, Lance.” She looked up at him. He couldn’t help but notice the dark circles under her eyes. Guilt stabbed at him for leaving her alone while he went out and pursued his dream.

“I’ve missed you too baby,” he admitted, hugging her tight. After this tour, that was it. If she couldn’t come along on tour, he wasn’t going to do it. He wasn’t going to leave her again for this long.

They stood in the middle of the airport like that for a few minutes. He had his family back in his arms again and he wasn’t in any hurry to let them go.

Sam pulled away first. “Let’s get you home,” she said with a smile.

Lance grinned aback at her. “Yes, let’s get me home,” he agreed. He couldn’t wait to get back  home.

BOOK SUMMARY:
Charity Powers is a young, intelligent woman that has left behind her predictable small town life, and even more predictable lover, to gamble on a fresh start in New York. She arrives with no leads or friends, just an armful of optimism and determination. When an attack at a local bar, a possible kidnapping attempt on her, is thwarted by a stranger, her life takes on an unforeseen turn.

Gorgeous and overly-experienced Justin Collins saves Charity from her attacker, and continues to save her in many other ways. "He's just the right mix of gentleman and caveman,” is how she describes him. He gives her exactly what she wants, and almost everything she needs, but his damaged past makes it impossible for him to commit.

At a new job, she falls into an online relationship with JP, the company’s owner. She hasn’t seen him, but he fills the gaps of Justin’s absences and feeds a fire Justin left unattended.

The return of her ex-lover exposes the dangerous secrets around her—one of these men has the power and connections to keep her safe at any cost, and the endless love for her to use this power or give it up to keep her.

EXCERPT:
Really, I don't know what it is about taxi rides with Justin. I think it's just the idea of being in a backseat with him, but it wasn't long before all I could think about was ripping his dark polo off of him and unzipping his jeans with my teeth.

Maybe I need a doctor. I love orgasms, but I was never addicted to sex the way I am with Justin.

Maybe his cock shoots heroin!

I laughed at myself and Justin looks at me, wanting to be in on the joke. "Just something about the girls from work," I said, blowing it off. I needed to change the subject. "What do you do, exactly; you've never mentioned your work?"

"Insurance," he said.

In the glow of the street lights, I turned and looked at his face. He looked right back at me, smiling.

"Yes, it's boring and that's why I never bring it up," he said, laughing.

I was still giggling when I said, "Then tell me something not boring about you." I grabbed the inside of his thigh with my hand and used it as leverage to pull myself closer.

"Okay," he started, "how about the fact that you just slid a little closer to an ex con?"

I don't know what to say to that.

Justin laughed at me. "Got you stumped now," he said. "Don't worry, it was a stupid thing I did as a kid. I was going through some stuff."

Thanks to Lena, I believe I knew exactly what he means by that.

"What did you do?" I asked, secretly excited that he was opening up to me.

He sighed. "I beat up my cousin—but I promise I had a good reason," he said quickly, defending his actions. "I was living with my aunt and cousin at the time. My father had recently passed away, and I was having an extremely rough time with it. He was all I had, my mother was a failure, and she was gone. My dad, that was hard."

I squeezed him, letting him know it was alright.

"My aunt was the only family around, so I was sent to live with her and her brat. My cousin and I had already hated each other by this point, but I didn't have a choice. I suppose he didn't either, but that was no reason for what he did, the things he said to me. I could take him talking about my mother, but he had no right to put my dad down, none at all," he said.

The sadness was still in him, flowing in his veins. It breaks my heart.

"He could have just left me alone," Justin continued. "I was afraid of him. He was older and bigger, he went his way and I went mine, and I liked it that way, but this time he went out of his way to get me. The day he called my father a quitter, said he was in hell where he belonged, I lost it. He was in the hospital for a week, ended up needing reconstructive surgery on his broken cheek. I saw him not too long ago; his eye on that side still looks crooked."

"He deserved it," I said, taking up for Justin. "He asked for it and he got it!"

"See, that's what I said," Justin added, smiling, and glad I saw it as he did. "But my aunt and cousin, and the police, they didn't see it like that. I was close enough to seventeen to be charged as an adult, but since my aunt kicked me out, and I had no prior record, they sent me to a boy’s home and then a city group home until I was eighteen."

"I'm so sorry," I told him. "You were down, and they kicked you."

The oddest expression settled on Justin's face. If not for my talk with Lena today, I wouldn't have had a clue what it was—relief! He'd just exposed a side of himself he kept hidden from everyone, a test to see if I would handle it, which I did without bringing his world down around him.

Now was not the time to pry for more, he had exactly what he needed from me, so I changed the subject.

"If you're around tomorrow, I may need help bringing in all my kitchenware. You came in pretty handy tonight," I teased.

He dropped his hand into my lap. "Handy, really? I'll have to see what else I can do for you tonight."

The driver pulled over in front of my hotel and yelled the price back to us. Once again, Justin wouldn't let me pay. I argued, but he was not having it. He paid and I led him into the hotel, crossing the lobby with my hand tucked in his.

At the reception desk, I glanced and caught the woman at the counter smirking at me. She's been watching me come and go alone for the last three weeks. She knows exactly what I’m doing tonight. I ignored her and headed for the elevators.

Justin brushed my hand away from the buttons, not letting me press to go up. He hit the down arrow instead.

"Have you seen the garage they have under here?" he asked.

"What are you talking about? Why does the garage matter?" I asked, annoyed that he is wasting our time.

An elevator arrived and he pulled me on, ignoring my questions and pressing “G3.”

The doors closed. "Justin, what are you doing?" I asked again, secretly curious at his surprise.

He smiled devilishly. "Just what I said, showing you their garage."

The doors were opening already, into a dimly lit parking garage as promised. Beyond the elevator doors on the left, the wall was painted green with a huge, white "G3" in the middle of it. Justin led me out, the clapping of our shoes echoing almost endlessly in the quiet space. There was no one else down here, unless they were sleeping in their car, otherwise we would hear them.

We wound through the rows of cars on a mission that I didn't yet understand. I have no clue what he is looking for, but he hasn't found it yet. When we had reached the furthest wall, the most private corner down here, he slowed, still ignoring my pleas. His eyes are on the cars, searching.

Finally, he stopped. "This will do," he said, pulling me in between a Chevy Silverado that looked like it was three feet off the ground and a white Alfa Romeo 8C Spider. He pulled me all the way in against the wall at the front of both vehicles, pressing me up against it lightly.

"And what do you think we can do here?" I asked, my voice screaming with excitement and lust despite my words. I don't know what he's thinking, but I desperately want to.

"I think you liked it in the bathroom at the grill," he said. "I think this place is a perfect mix of private and public to see how much you really like sex in a public place. And I think you need to prepare that warrior in you, because in a few minutes your screams of pleasure are going to echo and fill this entire room. You need to be ready because you're about to be fucked on the hood of a strangers Alfa Romeo until either you or the car break down."

I'm very passionate about writing stories full of love, lust, eroticism, and strong characters entwined around each other in an interesting, suspenseful journey.

East coast born and raised, I'm married, extremely happily, with 4 kids, 3 of which are now young adults (not sure when that happened).

I'm a COO in my technology-based "day job,” which requires a mix of technical and creative writing for both internal and client-facing materials, but it was not satisfying my artistic spirit. Starting the “Charity” series has been absolutely fulfilling and exciting.

Excerpt:
“Evan meets Lex”

Two or three wrong turns lead me down a long corridor lined with paintings. I stop before a portrait of a woman with an expression of secret amusement painted across her face. She's dressed in eighteenth century garb and her soft brown hair is piled high on her head in a careful arrangement of curls. A ghost of a feeling passes through me. It starts with a twinge and erupts in a tremble. The stone heart, forgotten beneath the high neckline of my black cotton dress, burns a white-hot heat that radiates across my skin. I'm so engrossed in the sensation that I fail to notice that I'm no longer alone.
Someone nearby clears their throat softly and shakes me from my trance. Startles, I turn to face the intruder. My eyes fall on a devastatingly handsome boy. No lie, the boy is gorgeous. He has hair the color of wet earth and eyes that are almost black. He's dressed entirely in black, from his fitted t-shirt and tight leather pants down to his scuffed motorcycle boots. In his hand he's holding a soft-looking, well-worn, black leather jacket.
"Lost?" the boy asks. His voice is somehow light and dark at the same time and his dark eyes dance with amusement.
"No," I reply in a strangled voice that makes me cringe on the inside.
His mouth turns up at the corner and he takes a few steps toward me. Reflexively, I step back. The boy stops mid-step and smiles. He reaches up with his free hand and rubs his jaw thoughtfully, as if he's considering his approach. I feel heat rising to my face. In seconds I'll be neon pink and there's nothing I can do to stop it. My hands itch to tug at my clothes or the end of my ponytail, but I force my limbs to remain still and my shoulders straight.
There's something about him that makes me feel uneasy, but in a good way. It's like we're old friends who haven't seen each other in years because we're having a silent conversation that seems too intimate for strangers. My inclination is to break the silence with nervous chatter, which isn't something I would normally do, but I let it go on until it's so deep I'm forgetting to breathe.
I'm afraid that if I open my mouth and say something stupid it'll cause him to leave. I let his eyes, the perfect contrast to my own light gray, bore in to me until he seems to reach some sort of conclusion. He nods once and clears his throat again.
"I apologize, for the intrusion," he says, his lips turning up into an easy smile. "Evangeline?"
Unnerved, I nod. His eyes warm slightly and his smile widens. "Let me introduce myself. My name is Lex." He pauses and bows deeply before continuing; I stifle a giggle. "I work for your grandmother.
She sent me to make sure you have everything you need and that you transition easily."
"What about Greta?" I manage, after a pause. I know she's leaving, but surely this is more her kind of thing. The boy in front of me is just that, a boy. The way he speaks is strangely formal, and doesn't fit at all with how he's dressed, but I doubt he's older than twenty.
"Greta has to leave and join Ms. Price. I'm afraid I'm all you've got." Lex gives me a half shrug and waits for me to respond. He takes a few tentative steps towards me. When I don't protest, he closes the rest of the space between us until he's standing unnecessarily close.
"When will she be back? Ms. Pr- my grandmother, I mean," I practically stutter, undone by the sensation that being so close to him causes.
"I'm not quite sure but, trust me, you'll be the first to know," he says with a wink.
I frown at his condescending tone. He's talking to me like I'm a mental patient about to have a meltdown any second. All things considered, I feel like I've been handling myself pretty well in the last few weeks. I square my shoulders and make to walk by him, back the way I came. A shock jolts me when he reaches out and gently grabs my arm, stopping me.
Lex looks down into my eyes, searching for something and coming up short. "Evangel..."
"Evan. You can call me Evan," I say, cutting him off, my voice stronger than I feel.
His hand falls away from my arm and I feel a pang of loss that I can't easily explain away. A dark look passes over his face and his eyebrows knit together. "Evan, then," he responds, his voice strained. His eyes no longer hold any hint of amusement.
I wait for him to continue but he doesn't say anything. I cock my head to the side and raise an eyebrow questioningly.
"Well," he says finally in that same strained voice. "I just wanted to let you know that if you need anything I'll be in the guest house. Greta will get hold of you before she leaves and fill you in on the details."
Without excusing himself, he saunters away and disappears down a bend in the hall. I'm left with a cold feeling that penetrates deep into my bones. I don't understand how he went from being polite, and maybe even flirty, one minute to giving me a distinct brush off the next. Something happened when he touched me and I have no idea what. Great. My first day here and things are already starting to get complicated.

About the Author:
Kate McCarthy grew up in a small town outside of Port Macquarie, Australia. Raised in a house just a short walk to the beach, Kate enjoyed the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and friendships that come from being raised in a friendly, small town area.

She now resides in Brisbane, Australia, a city in the state of Queensland where she works as an accountant, along with a sideline wedding cake business and her writing.  She is married with two children, has two dogs and house in the suburbs, and a pile of friends and family dotted all over the country that help keep her sane.

When she’s not busy running after naughty kids, filthy dogs, crunching numbers, piping buttercream and writing books, you can find her curled up in bed in the early hours of the morning reading new books and re-reading old favourites. Her favourite books are the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward in which she longs to eventually join the brotherhood and change her name to Phierce Mutha.
