We are super excited to be a part of the blog tour for Snake in the Grass: Book #2 in the Good Gods series by Staci Hart!!! We hosted Staci's first book in this series, Deer in Headlights... And LOVED it!!!

Blurb: It’s Round Two of high stakes Love Connection on Olympus, and this time, everything has changed. For Aphrodite, at least.

Ares is on deck, and Aphrodite is nervous. As much as she loves to hook up with him, she doesn’t trust him as far as she could throw him, which isn’t very far. He’s a big dude. They haven’t been together in a very long time, but she can’t resist him. She never could. Even when every part of her screamed that he was a liar.

He has a plan to keep Aphrodite, for good this time. He wants to win the game, but he’ll hold back to get what he wants. He’s sitting on a chance that he’s been waiting thousands of years for, and he’ll do what he has to do to convince her to stay forever.

The only thing that could stop him is the secret that he’s been keeping from her for eons. If she finds out, it will destroy everything.

Aphrodite is getting crap for her choice in player, because from the outside, it looks like a match that would never work.

Kat and Dillon have been through a lot, and everything has been to protect their younger siblings. They sacrificed everything to make sure their brother and sister would be safe. The players are tough and loyal. Fierce and determined. But they become each other’s weakness, even though they fight it, and even though it means danger for Kat and her sister.

If Aphrodite can get the players over their egos long enough to see that they’re meant for each other, this competition will be a piece of cake. One that she’ll eat a la mode, right in front of Ares, if she beats him.

We asked Staci who was her favorite God or Goddess and this is what she said:

Favorite Goddesses:

Aphrodite is hands down my favorite goddess, probably because she is an extension of me. A way cooler, more gorgeous, together 'me'. I love her style, bohemian and vintage. She makes me laugh, and she's not perfect. She's clueless about her own life, specifically about her own love life. Ironic, huh?

Persephone is my second favorite. She and Aphrodite (Dita) are best friends. Perry is like the other half of my gemini, and a bit like my best friend in real life. She's more internal, the introvert to Dita's extrovert. She's married to Hades, and loves to wear clothes with skulls and a bit of edge. Combat boots and cut offs and military jackets. She's also always stuffing her face. Her sweet tooth is unparalleled.

I'm also in love with Artemis. She's a loner, and a tough chick. She doesn't need anybody, and prefers to spend her time in her domain. Her domain being her apartment of mountains, streams, lakes, and fields, full of the mythological creatures. I love her world so much and I'm really excited about writing her perspective in Book 3.

My Review: I absolutely ADORE this author and her Good Gods series!!! Staci Hart is amazeballs and weaves a fantabulous web of wit, humor, drama, love, suspense, shock, and HOT sexy scenes that seem to suck me in on Word 1 Page 1! Kudos to this evil little genius that has quickly earned her way into my top favorite authors list!!

Aphrodite (Dita) is at it again. She has now been challenged by Ares... Her own object of lust... And has to fight against many barriers to try to win the token and the battle of love. Dita has chosen Kat and Ares has chosen Dillon for their players. When I first met these two I thought good luck to you Dita... Dillon is a fighter... Literally and a major hard ass! Kat is the carbon copy just in female form... But who am I kidding... This is Aphro-freakin-dite we are talking about people! I mean she is the goddess of LOVE for crying out loud! However, Ares is an outstanding challenger and will not make this an easy battle.

Let's dive into Kat and Dillon a little farther though shall we? Dillon... Oh Dillon... ***sigh*** He is the perfect Alpha male, tough guy, I would rather crush you then even tell you my name boy! To say he has had a rough life would be an understatement! He has grown up under the abusive hand of his drunk father, who killed his mother... Beat her to death... DAYUM! He has had to fight to protect his little brother from said bastard of a dad AND feels like it is home and Owen against the world. The love and protection he has for Owen was enough to make me swoon, but add on top of that his Alpha hotness and I was a goner... Ship sailed!!! Kat is like I said Dillon's perfect match... Minus the abusive father. She has grown up as the oldest daughter of a well known Japanese mafia boss and has had to protect and guard her little sister Kiki her entire life. Kat has had to put her dreams and ambitions on hold to save her sister's life from an abusive ex boyfriend. They fled their home in Vegas and have come to New York to hide out. Kat is beautiful, snarky, LOVES to piss off the overbearing cavemen that she races, and I adored her!!! So of course, I was a HUGE fan of Kat and Dillon finding each other and making it work.

Not only did Snake in the Grass have me rooting for Kat and Dillon, but two other couples as well. First of all Aphrodite is my all time favorite goddess! I wanted her and that hot little Ares to finally hook up... But good gods was their make-up sex HAWT!!! Then we have the adorable couple of Owen and Kiki.... Awe... These two are just so stinkin cute it is impossible not to just want to wrap them up and squeeze them!! The were so many levels of relationships and secrets to be uncovered that I was flipping my Kindle pages quicker than my little fingers could swipe!!

I give Snake in the Grass a definite 5 stars on the knock my socks off scale!!! This is a series that I devour and will impatiently wait to see who Dita will challenge next and how Staci Hart will force me to love her and her books even more!!! Kudos girl.... KUDOS!!!

About the Author:
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom; she has three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife; even though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f, ends with k, and there a uc in there.

From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she’s not writing, she’s sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics. But let’s be honest, she’s mostly writing.

SYNOPSIS –
Mia Murphy may be married to the man of her dreams. But the man in her dreams is the one that got away—her high school crush.

Mia’s stuck in a rut, just like every other stay-at-home mom, and the only thing saving her from her monotonous routine is her perfect husband, Declan. He’s gorgeous, he adores her, and the man stole her heart with his sexy singing voice. Mia feels like the luckiest girl in the world, until she discovers that Mr. Perfect is not Mr. Faithful. Mia is devastated. Everything she once believed about Declan and their marriage is now covered in a big cloud of doubt and regret. On impulse, she kicks the cheating bastard out, pushing them into a separation that could mean the end of the picture-perfect couple.

But when Mia receives an invitation to her high school reunion, she finds herself abandoning the present for the oh-so-alluring pull of the past. Although her heart still belongs to her husband, inescapable thoughts of her crush, Noah, resurface. And ten years later, Noah isn’t afraid to make his move. When the build-up of fantasies and ‘what ifs' comes to a head, sparks fly and it’s Mia’s turn to question if her marriage is everything she wants out of life. Searching for answers, Mia dives head first into dating Noah, falling further away from her husband and closer to her old flame.

But Declan’s not giving up so easily. Mia is his one and only and he’s not about to let another man win her heart.

TEASER:

It’s not ‘til I get home, walk into my empty house, that the reality starts to sink in. My husband had an affair. An affair. Saying it over and over in my head doesn’t weaken its meaning. What a dumb word to describe—this. What he did. Affair seems too formal, too politically correct, to encompass what it really means. It’s bullshit! That’s what it is. Pure, heart wrenching, holy-shit-this-is-not-happening-to-me bullshit!

How will I tell my parents? My friends? The girls. This will devastate them. Am I going to be divorced at twenty-eight years old? How did I miss the warning signs? What did I do to deserve this?

I collapse on the couch, already tired from the unremitting tears and the questions popping up like microwave popcorn in my head. I cry so hard my body shakes, trembling and convulsing. I run to the bathroom because the sobs have lodged themselves in my throat, causing me to gag and heave. I fall down to my knees in front of the toilet and spew my guts up. I’ve had stomach flus, drunken wild nights, and morning sickness, but vomit has never left my body this violently before.

I rest my head on the toilet, giving in to the self-inflicted mental and physical beating I’ve just taken and I hear the sound of the front door slam shut, followed by frantic footsteps.

“Mia, baby? Mia? Where are you?”

If I had the energy to get up and lock the door I would. I would lock myself in here until the hurt and disbelief vanish, but there’s no telling if and when that will ever happen.

A few seconds later, Declan is at my side, rubbing my back. “Are you okay?”

Yes, Declan, I’m perfect. Just fucking peachy. “Get the hell out. Leave me alone.” If only it were that simple. I actually don’t want him to leave me alone. I never wanted him to leave me alone, and ironically, now that he’s done the unthinkable, that’s what I’m going to be – all alone.

Declan’s crying now. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him cry. It’s unsettling, even if I want to see him hurt as badly as I’m hurting. “Mia, I’m sorry. I don’t know what else to say, but I want to talk to you about it. I need to make you understand.”

“Understand what, Dec? You lied to me. You cheated on me. You…ruined our marriage and our family…for one night with some…whore. I can’tbelieve these words are coming out of my mouth. Why Declan? I need…to understand…why?” The sobs distort my speech. I can’t even get the words out without insufferable sniffling.

“There is no explanation, Mia. But you’re not letting me talk. It’s not what you think. I didn’t…”

“You know what, spare me all the details and just get the hell out.”

“Mia…”

“GET OUT!” I scream so loud my throat feels raw. “Get out, get out, get out!” I can’t say it enough. I need him to leave. I can’t hear one more word out of his mouth. The mouth that was mine, that has now been all over someone else’s body. The thought disgusts me so much I start to wretch again, spilling out more, emptying my body to match the same empty feeling in my heart.

By the time I’m finally done, Declan is nowhere to be found.
