SQUEEE!!! I am super excited to have L.D. Davis and her amazeball book Accidentally on Purpose on our blog today!!!

Blurb:
Emmy thinks her boss Kyle Sterling of Sterling Corporations is a jerk.

So, she sleeps with him.

Emmy tries to put the mistake behind her, but then finds herself snowed in with Kyle. As the snow builds, so does the heat in the house between the two. The problem is that Kyle has a steady girlfriend that he is unwilling to break up with. Emmy cuts Kyle off and starts dating Luke. Even as their relationship takes off, Emmy is finding Kyle hard to shake. He is blatant in his feelings and desires for Emmy, putting her in an awkward situation. She tries hard to resist Kyle, but deep down inside Emmy's motives are shady. When Emmy succumbs to her hidden feelings for Kyle without setting Luke free, devastating consequences ensue.

In addition to her two men, Emmy daydreams about doing violent things to her loud mouthed, opinionated mother.

With some humor and sarcasm, and of course, some tequila, Emmy's world will flip upside down as she deals with the results of "accidentally on purpose" falling for two men at once.

My Review:

Love.... Hate... Love.... Hate.... this was the cycle for Kyle and Emmy!!! This book had me torn, pissed, saddened, and all out furious almost at the same time!! There were points where I was screaming at my iPad at Emmy at what an idiot she was being, to crying over the state her life was in... albeit it was all her own fault!! I was team Luke the entire book and wanted nothing more than to punch Kyle in his pompous throat! This is a MUST read book, however, if cheating/lying manipulative characters are not your cup of tea... don't say I didn't warn you. ;)

Emmy works for a dick. He is known as this by all that work for him. He is dating a total snot, works for Daddy, and thinks everything should go his own way. Kyle Sterling
is successful, HOT, confident, and is said dick. He sets his sights on Emmy and decides he wants her no matter the cost, but of course it has to be hush-hush. Oh .... and the at all costs are for Emmy to lose and Kyle to go about his merry way!

Now on the total opposite side of the spectrum, we have Luke. He is HOT, successful, sweet, loving, kind, and wants to show Emmy off since he has been crushing on her for years now! One would think this would be an easy choice to make between the two men. I know it was for me... TEAM LUKE!! However, Emmy makes a total mess of things that conjured up such drastic emotions from me that I went from feeling sorry for her, to wanting to jump in the book ad beat her senseless. I went from thinking "How could a woman allow someone to treat her this way?" to "Go ahead and do it, she deserves it!" It has been a while since I read a book where the lead female character disgusted me and made me pity her all in one page.

I LOVED the way Accidentally on Purpose ended!! I honestly thought this book would be the typical girl falls in love with hot boss and he dumps prior girlfriend and falls back in love with said girl. Accidentally On Purpose took me by surprise with twists and turns that I did not see coming! Kudos to LD. Davis for writing such a dark story, but she kept the scenes in perspective that it could and probably has really happened. I give AOP 4.5 stars on the knock my socks off scale and would absolutely suggest you to 1-Click!!

Blurb:
Orphaned at 7, with no memory of her past or the family she lost, 17 year old Skye Martin is tired of being alone and afraid. After a hard night of partying, Skye wakes up alone in an unfamiliar hotel. All she can remember is the deep voice of her rescuer and his promise: “I am safe.”

Xander has been tasked with watching Skye from afar for the past two years, in order to keep her safe from the demons that hunt her. An easy job - until a pair of red glowing eyes reveal themselves to Skye, and Xander, in a moment of weakness, is forced to break his cover to protect her.

Never good at trusting people, Skye is inexplicably drawn to Xander and the immediate bond she feels for him. However, Xander is filled with secrets and ties to her past that threaten to thrust Skye into a world she could never imagine existed…

As she begins to unravel the truth about who Xander is and the details surrounding her family, she discovers that she might just be the key to saving everything...

And, most importantly, she finds that there has always been someone by her side who would never let her fall…

Excerpt:
"First, can you check the glove box and see what’s in there?" Xander asked, interrupting my thoughts.

I actually jumped back a little when I popped the glovebox open, which caused Xander to snicker at me. "What did you think was going to jump out at you?"

"These days I have no idea," I retorted, as I pulled out the single envelope that lay in the glove box. It was sealed and thin, and couldn’t have held more than a sheet of paper, as light as it felt.

"Looking for this?" I questioned, and I held it up for him to see.
"Yeah, I think so." His voice wavered and I found myself studying his profile; trying to get an idea for what was going on in his head.

"Open it up."

"Really?" I asked, with trepidation dripping in my voice. "You're actually going to let me in?"

His hand ran through his hair - I loved that - and he sighed. "Skye, I've kept you out of the loop for as long as I have so that I could keep you safe, not because I wanted to. We’re in this together now."

My heart leapt. He was right…we were in this, whatever it was, together. I tore open the envelope and pulled out a single sheet of paper with a name and number. That was it? I flipped it over. Nothing.

"This is it. The name ‘Selene’ and a number," I said softly.

I guess I’d expected something more profound.

"That's it," confirmed Xander. "After we jump on the interstate we can pick up a phone, and then we’ll call her."

"Okay. Who is she?"

Xander cleared his throat before he spoke, but kept his eyes on the road.

"I don't know, actually."

"You don't know? Do you even know where we’re going?"

"Nope."

The urge to jerk the door open and throw myself out of the moving vehicle was overwhelming.

"Time to tell me the plan, Xander. I need to know now."

"I know. I told you I would fill you in, but I just wanted to be sure the number was in the glove box. You know at the diner, when you questioned how I was supposed to keep you safe for the rest of your life?"

I nodded in acknowledgment and he continued on. "It upset me, because I realized that you didn’t ‘get the picture’ yet..."

"What picture?"

"The one where you will never be safe Skye. Not here. Hell - maybe not even in Tyalbrook."

A million curses and questions hurtled over each other in a rush to make their way out of my mouth, but all I actually said was, "Why?"

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Having grown up in both the cold, quiet town of Topsham, Maine and the steamy, southern hospitality of Mobile, Alabama, Michele is something of a enigma. She is an avid Yankees fan, loves New England, being outdoors and misses snow. However she thinks southern boys are hotter, Alabama football is the only REAL football out there and sweet tea is the best thing this side of heaven and her children’s laughter!

Her family, a doting husband and three awesome minions, have planted their roots in the middle of Michele’s two childhood homes in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Never Let You Fall is Michele’s first novel and she is beyond thrilled to have finally followed up on a dream she has held for over 20 years! God willing there will be many many more books to follow.

Even worse, some of that darkness may already exist within her, threatening her chance to make Hallows Haven her permanent home.

Have Gwen's loved ones continued to keep dangerous secrets? Can Gwen resist the call of darkness?

Excerpt:
Grandmother held out her hand. Out of thin air, a rather large, dull, old-fashioned brass skeleton key appeared. She fit it into the rusty lock covering the door of the banned room. The door crankily complained its way open, burping stale air in their faces. It was obvious that visitors to this room were infrequent.

“Now you will see why you were never allowed in here, Gwen.” She moved aside, allowing Gwen to enter the room before her.

It took a moment for Gwen’s eyes to adjust to the darkness of the windowless room. There was an iridescent glow pulsating from the long wall parallel to the door that made it look as though the wall were living, breathing. Gwen blinked. She couldn’t believe this had been in her basement this whole time and she had never known. A fantasy come to fruition. “Holy sh...!” she exclaimed.

Author Info for Melissa:
Melissa Brodsky used to tell everyone she knew that she was going to be a writer when she grew up. She's currently working on that goal. Living in Michigan in a modern-day "Yours, Mine and Ours" type household, Melissa is the biological mother of 3 and a full-time stepmother, as well. On some days, she may even be considered evil, and not just by her stepchildren. Most of the time, she is sitting at the kitchen table, poised over her computer while daydreaming up new plots for books.

Author Info for Nicole:
Since childhood, Nicole Madison has been guilty of daydreaming a little too much. One of her favorite pastimes is staring into space, dreaming up stories, characters, lives, and dimensions when she really should be accomplishing other things. She parlayed her love of creating first into a career as a freelance writer and then into fiction writing. Her favorite genres are paranormal fiction and romance, followed closely by horror. A long time Pennsylvanian, Nicole spends her days writing, soaking up books, teaching her five children how to be weird (in a good way), dancing for the endorphins and gardening.
