Fairy Tales are all the talk right now...... Take a look at this twisted fairy tale, Once Upon a Twist by Aimee Duffy and Michelle Smart!!

Blurb:
Once upon a time in a land far, far away, the creatures are coming…

In a land run by misogynists, where fair maidens are deemed liable to fall in a dead faint at the sight of blood, Prince Charming is worried – the creatures that have destroyed their neighboring kingdoms are coming for them. He judges it imperative to get all the females to safety, but first he needs to break the enchantment enslaving his One True Love to her hateful home. Oh, and there’s the small matter of the Ball to get through too.

But when the creatures reach them ahead of their expected time, all plans are foregone. Can Ella break her wicked stepmother’s enchantment? Can she save her handsome Prince and the kingdom before midnight strikes? And can she show his soldiers what it really means to kick a monster’s butt? The clock is ticking…

Many, many years later…

When Ruby visits her grandmother in the deep, dark forest, she stumbles into a nightmare. Her grandma’s been attacked by a wolf-like creature, and an ancient disease that turned people into monsters is back… and so is the cold-hearted ex she walked out on a year ago.

Now she has to either accept Jeremy’s help or face becoming a monster herself. Fighting alongside the man she once loved isn’t easy, especially when she discovers there’s more to Jeremy than the cheating bastard she took him for.

As they fight to survive the disease and save those they love, can they keep from falling for each other all over again?

About Aimee:
About me (snooze—can you tell I hate the me stuff? Lol) For as long as I can remember, I've had a good book in my hands. In primary school I loved Roald Dahl. In high school my English teacher introduced me to Charles Dickens, Stephen King, Jane Austin, Emily Bronte, and Shakespeare. It was then that I discovered my love for romance and I've wanted to pen my own imaginary heroes and heroines for others to enjoy ever since. Only in the last few years was I lucky enough to meet some fabulous and encouraging people to help me gain the skills to make that dream possible. I live in sunny Scotland in a small town near the Ochils and work nine to five in a solicitors office. In my free time, you'll find me on Facebook, stalking *cough* following friends on Twitter, and may even catch me shoe shopping.

About Michelle:
My love affair with books began as a baby when, according to my mum, I would throw my teddies out of the cot and cuddle my books instead. This love for all things wordy has never left me. I have always been a voracious reader, crossing all genres depending on my mood. Looking back, my first experience with romance was as a child devouring copious amounts of fairy tales. As my reading tastes evolved, encompassing amongst others Mills & Boon, Jackie Collins and Jilly Cooper, I discovered something special – that a book has the capacity to make my heart beat as if falling in love for the first time. When not reading or pretending to do the housework, I love nothing more than creating worlds of my own featuring handsome heroes and the sparkly, feisty women who refuse to take crap from them. I hope my books can make my readers' hearts beat a little faster too.

EXCEPRTS Ch 26:
It was then her phone started to ring, with her free hand she fished for the phone in her huge Bag, which doubled as her briefcase.

“Rebecca Keane well I never, Glad your home…. Did you miss me?”

Said the voice at the other end of the phone,

“Open the door”.

She was still moving to the tune, smiling to herself as she shimmied to the door. Don’t ask her why she did what she was told; she probably would have blamed it on the jetlag. Upon opening the door, was her voice at the other end of her phone.

His eyes lit up at the sight of her, a smile forming on his hansom face as their gazes met. They continued to talk on their devices. He was standing there, one arm extended leaning against the door join.

He was wearing a formal separate suit jacket with jeans and a simple fitted white T. Around his neck, a cashmere scarf which hung loosely over the lapels of his jacket.

He looked gorgeous, as soon as she saw him as her heart started to pound. She could see his biceps through the outline of the fitted jacket. She wanted him, she could feel the ache within her grow.

He still spoke into his phone toying with her.

“Come here”, he smiled at her with his come to bed eyes that burned right through her.

Mocking him she spoke.

“Uh uh, if you want me, you come here” as she pointed to the ground before her.

She looked back at him, defiantly. Jackson didn't have to be told twice as he moved towards her, sweeping her off her feet. His mouth firmly planted on hers.

“So Jackson, have you been a good boy while I've been away?” she asked “I Rebecca, have been a very good boy, while you were away. It's been a long 2 weeks believe me. I want you as the song say’s ‘Right here Right now’” his lips caressing her neck tenderly.

“Do you know how much I've missed you?”

He pulled her hand down towards the bulge in his trousers. She laughed “Are you sure” She gave him a little squeeze.

She could feel the need in him, “Then let’s see how much”. Rebecca grabbed Jackson's scarf, pulling him in the direction of her bedroom.

TEASER from chapter 5:
When she came down there was Jason air drumming to ‘The Chain’, she laughed to herself he obviously had not expected her down so soon, but he’d forgotten, that it was a perfectly normal Jason thing he done in front of her so many times before. She loved that about him that he was passionate about everything he done, that was Jason through and through.

'God she really had made a bad choice many years' ago she thought looking at the Adonis wrapped in a towel before her....

As the well known guitar rift (used for Formula 1 racing) started to charge the air it must have spurred Jason into walking over to Rebecca, he pulled her to him whispering in her ear “ Bec’s you made the wrong choice years ago.....make the right choice now....choose me".... he begged, ....their eye’s then met...as did their lips....

Jason could feel Rebecca’s soft silky body against him.

Naturally, he went hard, she felt his arousal as she turned her back into him, pressing against him, reciprocating his advances, as he ran his hand down her thigh slowly.

She pressed closer against him as her arm encircled the back of his neck pulling him to her.

Jason moved his hand up her thigh again his fingers gliding, teasing as they trailed to her awaiting pert ni**les.

Lucy and George:
He loved his kitchen and he loved to cook, especially for her she wasn’t in to all the fancy restaurants and he had prepared dinner earlier while waiting for her to finish work. When she entered the kitchen ‘Dark side of the Moon ’was playing on the docking station that was set into the huge seamless island, he had stripped and was only wearing an apron standing at the cooker “I’m doing Shepherd’s Pie “(it was her favorite) his back was turned to her exposing his firm tight tanned arse, he always sunbathed naked on his Yacht moored in Cannes. “Oye Cheeky” she said slapping his firm buttocks “Oh yes... please May I have another “he said. She slapped him again “Another” he said looking over his shoulder at her “Another".

Blurb:
Abbii had been afraid of the dark for four long years. She hated the eerie silence that filled the night.

She would often try to forget by closing her eyes at night, but she would always be met by dreams of Shadows that would attack her, dragging her into the Darkness. Most nights, she would simply lie there with her bedding wrapped tightly around her, staring at the light coming in through her window, hoping that she would drift off into a dreamless sleep.

Ever since that day four years ago, the dark had frightened her; she had thought it would be a curse throughout the whole of her life, but something changed when she met him. The dark seemed to lose its power and the moon’s light brightened.

Her dreams didn’t stop; nightmares still stole her sleep, but there was always a figure of Light that would save her and allow her to wake.

He said the same thing every night in her dreams. Keep fighting, Abbii.

She thought that he was part of her imagination, someone that she had created to save her, until she met him and was drawn into his bright hazel eyes.

His name was Nate.

Excerpt:
Nate signalled for her to move forward, watching as she did after a brief hesitation. She stopped several strides in front of him and waited for him to speak. “How many windows are there?”

Not really understanding the relevance of counting windows, Abbii turned to count them.

“No!”

Startled by Nate’s outburst, she glared at him, more out of shock than malice.

“Without turning.” He watched as confusion took over her face. “Close your eyes and focus on the energy of the sunlight beaming through the glass.”

Abbii shuffled in her place, not really understanding, but when Nate smiled, she did as she was asked. She closed her eyes, immediately feeling self conscious that Nate’s gaze was focused onto her.

“Clear your mind of everything else. Think of somewhere you feel calm.”

Keeping her eyes closed, Abbii took in Nate’s statement. She felt her heartbeat increase and her breath seemed shallow, but as she relaxed her shoulders, the rest of her body seemed to follow. She listened to the faint breeze that circled through the large space, hearing leaves pitter-pattering against the wooden floor.

“Anywhere you feel calm.”

Although her mind was full of questions and worries and a fear that she would lose herself, Abbii found that an image began to form in her head. Bursts of blue and silver light soothed her, and once the image had focused, she realised why. She could see the lake at The Everglades, with the moon reflected clearly upon its surface. The stars were shining brightly, and the air was still. The feeling of calm which enveloped her felt uplifting.

“Now keep that feeling inside of you and focus onto the light of the sun.”

Not at all distracted by Nate’s words, Abbii kept hold of the calmness inside of her and expanded her mind in some way, feeling the energy of the sunlight. She could feel its warmth and the way it passed through the glass of the bay windows. The years of dirt and dust made no difference; the power of the sunlight beamed through it without faltering.

“How many are there, Abbii?”

Realising that she could sense several different areas of the sunlight’s energy, Abbii realised that each one represented one of the windows.

There are eight.

Author Bio:
I was born in England in the West Midlands in 1991 where I am still currently living, growing up alongside one younger and three older brothers.

Books and writing was an interest that I began to develop from the first years of secondary school, and on my thirteenth birthday, I began to plan and design the idea to write a fantasy novel. I finished secondary school with high GCSE’s and then went on into further education to study English and all aspects of art and design. After six years of writing, planning and overall editing of the book, it was successfully completed, containing over 82,000 words, and self published in the first week of 2011.

With high expectations in myself, I immediately began to write a second novel in the series, while keeping my art and design a part of the process. The achievement of completing the first novel ‘Purest Light,’ allowed the ideas of the second to flow much easier and it was completed by early 2012. As I was writing the third and final book, New Beginnings, at the same time, the series was finished by its publication in 2013.

Writing is now a part of my everyday and I have started on my newest project, The Star, which is also planned to be the first of three. Only time will tell.
