SQUEEE!!!!!! Today we have the AH-MAY-ZING Sawyer Bennett and her amazeball book, Off The Record!!!
 Goodreads
Book Description:

The sparks of dislike burn hot, but the sparks of mutual attraction burn even hotter. Ever Montgomery suffered the ultimate betrayal by the one man who she should have been able to count on for anything. It has left her hurt, jaded and incapable of forming relationships, but it also means that she can spot a liar a mile away. These traits are earning her a reputation as a reporter with a keen nose for a good story and a complete understanding of the extreme power of the written word.

Lincoln Caldwell, is the hot goalie for the New York Rangers. At twenty-four and a rising star, he works hard and he plays even harder. He’s gorgeous and carefree—the ultimate charmer. Ladies fall at his feet and the single life has never been lived the way Linc Caldwell does it. When Ever publishes an article about Linc containing information that she received off the record, she finds herself on the receiving end of the athelete’s fury. Rather than basking in the glory of exposing Linc as a shameless user of women, she finds herself at his mercy when he demands and receives retribution. Required by her editor to trail Linc for six weeks, Ever is forced to look at the real Linc Caldwell.

And she just might find that she has misjudged him.

Excerpt: WARNING..... HAWT ALERT!!!!
I glance down at her and she’s not looking at the TV. She’s staring down at her lap, her eyes half closed. For a minute, I think she’s falling asleep but then she says softly, “This isn’t going to work.”

Releasing her hair, I ask, “What’s not going to work?” My voice comes out raspy and I think it’s because my throat is so dry.

“Sitting so close together.”

I cautiously remove my arm from around her shoulders. She looks up to me and fuck me silly, I see desire in her eyes. I am so unprepared for that look to be coming from her, I have no words. I’m practically struck stupid when she says, “I want to kiss you, Linc.”

Holy fuck a duck! I practically groan over her words. I’ve been fantasizing about kissing her all afternoon and evening, but in a million years I never thought she would want to kiss me back.

Then a thought strikes me. What if she’s setting me up? What if she says she wants to kiss me, to induce me to make a move on her? So that she can write that Linc Caldwell is the man-whore she claims me to be.

No way am I making a fucking move right now. I wait with my breath held to see what she’ll do. She stares at me for a few moments, those cornflower eyes unblinking. I still see desire there and a small kernel of hope flares inside of me that she truly does want me.

Then she raises up on her knees and my gut tightens. She lays her hands on my chest and leans toward me. Her eyes leave mine and travel down to my lips, and it takes all of my willpower not to crush her to me. As her lips near mine, I close my eyes in anticipation of what she’ll do.

At first, all I get is a whisper soft touch, and I’m not sure if it’s her breath or her lips that make contact with mine. She brings one hand to my face, and just rests it gently there. Her thumb smoothes along my cheekbone.

She places her mouth over my bottom lip and lightly kisses it. She moves to the corner of my mouth, and kisses there as well. All so light and soft, I can barely feel them. She lets out a soft sigh of pleasure and my dick throbs in response. She’s hardly kissed me but my body is reacting viciously to her.

I wait for another kiss but it doesn’t come. Instead, I feel her swing a leg over my lap and she’s straddling me. My eyes fly open to stare into her impossibly big and impossibly blue ones. She brings her other hand to my face and is cradling it gently, but the look in her eyes is anything but soft. The level of desire I saw before pales in comparison to what I see now. She looks like she wants to eat me up, and the monster in my pants hardens even more.

“I’m going to really kiss you now,” she says and I cannot stop the groan that comes out of my throat.

My Review:

OK... Wow.... Off the Record is so dang HOT I had to read this book and cool off to get myself geared up to write this review!! This book quickly jumped into my top 5 FAVES and Linc and Nix are way up there on my book boyfriend crush list!! Sawyer Bennett is an AMAZEBALL writer that sucks me into her books every time I read one!!

Off the Record is the 2nd book in the Off series, but can be read as a stand alone. Yes, I am a devout Sawyer fan so I read anything that comes my way that is written by her, but you can read each book without reading the others. Off the Record is the story of Linc, the famous playboy hockey player, and Ever, the distrusting reporter. Here is their story. ;)

Ever has absolutely zero trust in men... her father abandoned her and her mother when she was 16 and WHILE her mother was going through cancer. She then tried to learn to let men in and got engaged only to come home early to find him in bed with her friend. Needless to say, now Ever has a closed off brick wall that protects her heart and she has vowed to never let someone else in to hurt her. She is working as a reporter and trying to climb her way up to the type of articles that she really wants to write. She is assigned to interview the hockey stud, Lincoln Caldwell. Easy enough, huh????

Lincoln, Linc, Caldwell is a hockey star, sex on legs, panty dropper that has several women each night and uses and abuses them... or so his reputation states. It is true that he is sex on legs and has a panty dropper smile... but the rest could just be tall tales to make him have the bad boy of hockey appeal. He hosts an after party at his house where his brother, Nix... another panty dropper... brings his girlfriend and her friend, who turns out to be Ever the reporter. Linc notices Ever across the room and feels an instant attraction to her. Ever notices Linc as well, and knows that she is in for some trouble.

Linc invites Ever to interview him on the balcony and both quickly figure out that they have major chemistry. The trick is going  be Linc melting Ever's ice queen heart and getting her to take a chance. The interview goes amazingly awesome and Linc believes that he has made a positive imprint on Ever's opinion of him. Now this is where the book gets tricky, without giving away spoilers... let's just say there were some misunderstandings after the interview that gave Ever the opinion that Linc was the head man whore. She goes home and rips him a new one in her opinion piece article. The article is published, Linc gets pissed off, goes to her editor and demands an apology retraction. Ever thinks that is the end of it... but no way... Linc is too pissed and wants not only the readers to have a different opinion of him, but Ever as well! Linc is nothing like what she wrote him to be. He is a giving, family oriented softy actually that visits sick kids in cancer centers and calls his dad everyday. Add that to the fact that he is a  walking orgasm... I was sold!!

Ever is forced to spend 6 weeks with Linc and follow him everywhere so she can document that he is not a man whore and is in fact a great guy. Any other sane woman would gladly volunteer at the opportunity to spend 24/7 with Linc Caldwell... but as discussed earlier... Ever is not any other woman. She views this basically as torture and prays for the 6 weeks to fly by. Linc and Ever realize they have more in common than just hot chemistry and Ever begins to wonder if she misjudged him and wrote a haste article over her own self issues with men.  Ever begins to learn a lot about herself via Linc and it was that relationship and closeness that I was begging for these two characters to find solace in each other!

Linc is one of the hottest book crushes I have read in a while!! I could not put this book down and had to bookmark at one point to take my kids somewhere and I found myself wishing they were 16 and could drive themselves! I literally devoured this book and found myself so engrossed in the story that I knew I had to finish. Sawyer Bennett does an amazing job at creating endearing characters that grabbed the readers' hearts and soul!! I love how she always includes some life lesson in her writing like wounded vet, class bias, typical stereotyping, or mental health. Off the Record is 5 stars on the knock my socks off scale.... however if I could give it 100.. I totally would!! MUST READ!!!

He was the one thing in her life that was perfect, but she couldn't allow herself to have him.

Her life begins to unravel. Events take over and force her to let go of her dreams and desires. She needs to realize that a person cannot control the events in their life, only their reaction to them...but will it be too late for her to save her relationship with her best friend? Present Perfect is a story of how past events have present consequences and how perfect your present could be if you stopped fighting and just allowed it to happen.

Excerpt: Subject to editing/final changes Tweet and Noah age 15
We were all sitting around the table eating by the time Noah joined us. He sat in the only empty seat left which happened to be next to me. Dad and Mr. Stewart talked about work while Mom and Mrs. Stewart shared the neighborhood gossip. I was trying to recover from the intense moment in my room earlier. I would have been able to do that if Noah hadn’t been sitting right next to me. That was bad enough, but he kept finding subtle ways of touching me. What happened in my room was a mistake, even though it didn’t go very far, it went far enough. I had to be strong and put a stop to things happening between us. Noah put his arm around the back of my chair and reached across me for some bread, which brought his face so close to mine his lips were almost touching my cheek. Keeping my voice low, I said, “I know what you’re doing.” “I do too, I really like garlic bread.” “I could have passed it to you if you had asked.” “Yeah, I know, but my way I get to look down your dress.” My eyes shot immediately to his. ”Oh, by the way, your bra selection tonight…Excellent.” I slapped my hand to my chest trying to close the gap he had been peering down. “Please tell me your panties match,” he said, and then leaned back slightly, glancing down. When I looked at him, I was met with a wink and a smirk before he went back to eating. “Noah, congratulations,” my dad said. Just then I felt a hand on my knee and fingers creeping under the hem of my dress. My breath hitched and my eyes darted over to Noah. I’d be completely pissed at him if his hand didn’t feel so incredible on my naked leg. “Thank you, sir.” How he could remain so calm, cool, and collected in front of our parents while his hand rubbed over my knee was beyond me. “It’s pretty rare that a sophomore gets asked to join the varsity team. We’re proud of you.” My dad always thought of Noah like a son. “His mom and I are extremely proud of him. He’s a chip off the old block,” Mr. Stewart added. The dads laughed as if the comment was hilarious. Noah smiled at his dad while his hand began to move up my thigh. I slapped it away and inadvertently hit the table, causing it to shake. “Amanda, are you okay?” Mom asked. ‘Yes. I’m fine.” Noah snorted as he tried to contain a laugh. “I was swatting a fly away.” My mom looked at me, slightly annoyed, but maintained her cheery voice, and said, “That’s ridiculous. We don’t have flies in this house.” “My bad,” I said. Noah’s hand landed back on my knee. He squeezed slightly, causing a loud gasp to escape me. All four parental heads turned to look in my direction. “Um… Mom would you please pass me the…um…” Noah touching was relentless. He would squeeze my knee then rub the inside of my thigh. It was impossible for me to think or form a coherent sentence. “The stuff in the bottle, that you…um…pour on…um…lettuce?” My pitch grew higher and higher with each word. “You mean salad dressing?” Mom said, sarcasm flowing from her words like a torrential rain. I nodded. “You already have some on your salad.” “I need more. Please give me more.” She looked at me like I didn’t belong to her before passing me the dressing. “How’s Emily?” Mrs. Stewart asked while I doused my salad. A prideful smile appeared across my mom’s face. “She’s wonderful. She’s loving college.” “That’s fantastic,” Mrs. Stewart said. “In fact, she joined the debate team. She’s an extremely articulate young woman.” Mom glanced over at me. If she had any idea what was taking place under her dinner table, she might cut me some slack. I was so out of sorts, I dropped my fork just before loading it up with salad. “I’ll get it, Tweet.” Noah’s hand disappeared from my leg. I took the opportunity to take a drink of water trying to calm down. Noah scooted his chair back and then bent down to grab the fork. “Dead horse!” Dad announced while holding up the empty wine bottle. All of a sudden, I felt a pair of lips on the outer side of my thigh right above my knee. I almost did a full blown spit-take at the exact same time my dad asked, “Are we game for another?” Noah sat back up and I had four sets of eyes staring at me, wondering what had gotten into me. “I’ll go get you another bottle of wine. I’m done eating, anyway,” I said, as I wiped the spray of water from my face. I quickly rose from the table and made my way to the kitchen to put my plate in the sink. Without stopping, I headed to the garage where we had an extra refrigerator that my parents used for their wine collection. Standing in front of the open fridge, I realized I didn’t know if they wanted red or white. I took a bottle of each to be on the safe side. I closed the fridge and turned around coming face-to-face with a grinning Noah. I took a step back. He placed his hands against the fridge on either side of my shoulders, caging me in. He really liked caging me in. “What the hell do you think you’re doing in there with all the touching and the kissing? You kissed my thigh under the table. The family dinner table, for god’s sake.” “I couldn’t resist. You’re mighty tasty.” He waggled his eyebrows and moved in closer. Holy crap on a cracker, tingles were taking over my body. “Leave me alone for the rest of the night.” I tried to sound mad, but even I could hear the smile in my voice. It was hard to be mad at Noah, especially when what he was doing felt so amazing. “Ok. I will.” He dropped his arms and stepped back giving me room to get by. “Thank you.” As I passed him going back toward the door I felt the hem of my dress rise up behind me. I quickly stepped to the side out of his reach. “Dammit, Noah! Stop it! I can’t defend myself with these bottles in my hands.” Holding his hands up in surrender, he said, “I thought you had a speck of something on your dress. I was just trying to help is all.” I narrowed my eyes at him before heading back into the house.
